Hear No Evil. Speak No Evil. See No Evil.

One day as I was driving home from Destiny Harvest Church and a riddle popped in my head.

"If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear the noise, does it make a sound?"

I pondered the possible answer. What justifies the term "sound"? In order for sound to take place, does it require for someone to "hear" the noise?

"The answer depends upon the particular definition of sound, whether it is the scientific (created vibrations) or the pragmatic (sound is the interpretation of these vibrations)."

Let's apply this riddle to our lives.

"If God is talking to you, does it mean you are listening as oppose to just simply hearing?"

Listening is defined as "an active activity that involves receiving, deciphering and perceiving a message with intent to respond.

 Mark 4:23-24 NKJV

"If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given."

Listening involves two parties. One side is talking and the other side is not only listening, but they are going to have to RESPOND back. The response doesn't always have to be a verbal response back, most the times God desires it to be a physically reply with our actions. We have to show God with our actions and lifestyle that we are willing to follow His ways

Hear No Evil

Proverbs 2:1-6 NKJV

My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;

As children of God, it is important to obey our Father's will for us. It's so necessary. Being disobedience will not limit God's power, but it will keep us from our blessings. When we obey God and follow His instruction, we will reap the benefits for being obedient.

John 10:27-28 NKJV

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

Speak No Evil

Like I said before, God wants the best for us. Our future is full of blessings and prosperity.

Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

When God is talking, He isn't talking just to talk or to show us that He sounds like Morgan Freeman from Bruce Almighty with a bold monotone voice.

When God speaks, it is for a purpose! When God speaks to us (through the Holy Spirit), it is for us to get revelation about something in our lives and/or someone's else life. There is NOTHING evil, bad, terrible, horrible, you get the picture, about what God says to us.

We fall and fail when we do not heed to God's voice. We can't move effectively without Him. He is the one that gives us directions in life with His words. When we rely on our own flesh and understanding, I can guarantee that majority of the time that the situation will result in failure. We have to be willing to take what we hear. Many of us have heard the Holy Spirit tell us do something, but refused to and I'm pretty sure you wanted to punch yourself in the face when everything came crumbling down.

Proverbs 11:14 NKJV

Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

See No Evil

Psalms 119:105 NKJV

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

James 1:22-25 NKJV

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

The Lord's words basically direct our lives. They are sometimes for us to change things in our lives, word of encouragement, revelation, etc. When He speaks it for guidance for something in our lives. If you follow what He instructs, I can say that is NOT evil, but just and righteous. God has spoken to many of us on issues in our lives that we needed clarity. Maybe you didn't know what step to take next or an area in your life seemed uncertain. And He finally gave you clarity on it. Wasn't it amazing!? Like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders? Now you were able to move without fear of what was gonna happen, because your Father has spoken peace and blessing into your future.

I didn't know how I was gonna end this post, but God wasn't gonna leave me hanging. Just saw this post on Instagram.

"Don't let the noise of this world keep you from hearing the

VOICE OF THE LORD"
